Civilene (Crumpton) Scott

ELLEN CIVILENE (CRUMPTON) SCOTT, age 85 of Jemison, passed away on April 9, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Birmingham, AL. She was born in Chilton County on June 24, 1938; the daughter of the late Millard Crumpton and the late Irene McGraw Scott.

Civilene was a wonderful cook and quilter. She enjoyed being outdoors where she would work in her flowers and watch the birds. She would work in the garden where she would grow fruits and vegetables that she would can for her family’s later use. She was a witty person who loved laughter and making those around her laugh. She also enjoyed traveling and exploring God’s creation. She was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan and Alabama Crimson Tide fan. She spent many evenings watching various Alabama sports or taking in a Braves game on TV. She was a devoted and faithful member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church. Civilene will be best remembered for the love that she had for her family and those close to her.

She is survived by: Daughter, Donna (Marty) Headley of Jemison; Daughter, Jenny (Chad) Lovelady of Jemison; Son-in-Law, Danny Wyatt of Thorsby; Grandchildren: Heather (Ramsey) Glenn of Clanton, Wesley (Angie) Headley of Jemison, Craig Scott of Centreville, and Kacy (Jud) Wyatt of Jemison; Great Grandchildren, Brady Watson and Cora Wyatt; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, Loyd “Buddy” Scott; Daughter, Dianne Wyatt; and Grandson, Brent Wyatt.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2:00pm from Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Caleb Hollis and Rev. William Earl Short officiating.

Visitation will be held from 12:30pm until service time at the church.

Burial will follow in the Mars Hill Baptist Cemetery in Jemison, AL.
