Elladene (Headley) Mims

ELLADENE HEADLEY MIMS, age 92 of Thorsby, began celebrating in her Heavenly home on November 14, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Verbena, Alabama on June 14, 1925.

She was a homemaker and a caregiver for many children.

She is survived by: Children: Virginia Church, A.J. II (Carol) Mims, and Robert (Tammy) Mims; Son-in-Law, Jacob Poore; Grandchildren: David (Sarah) Church, Darrell (Tammy) Church, Sherry (Bryan) Maddox, A.J. III (Thu) Mims, Joshua Mims, Jennifer (Joshua) Davis, Katheryn (Curt) Smith, Jaclyn (Nathan) Brockway, and Ashley Mims; 13 Great Grandchildren; and a Brother, Oliver (Olice) Headley.

She is preceded in death by: Husband of 66 years, A.J. Mims, Sr.; Daughter, Mary Sue Poore; Father, Sylvester Headley; Mother, Edna Earl Headley; Step-Mother, Mattie Belle Headley; Sisters, Flora Gaylor and Eudora Gaylor; and Brothers: Otis Headley, Arnold Headley, Rupert Headley, and James Headley.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 5-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00am from Mt. Carmel Baptist church No. 1 with Rev. Chad Foshee and Rev. Jim Headley officiating.

The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist No. 1 Cemetery in Thorsby, AL.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home of Clanton.
