Jo Ann (Albritton) Carden

JO ANN CARDEN, age 83 of Northport and a former long-time resident of Chilton County, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2017 at the Forrest Manor Nursing Home in Northport. She was born in Bowling Green, FL on August 28, 1934; the daughter of the late Joshua A. Albritton and the late Leona Lucille Walston Albritton.

Mrs. Carden was a minister’s wife to her husband, the late Rev. Robert L. Carden; and was active in a number of Baptist churches over the years.

She is survived by: Son, Dr. Robert G. (Linda) Carden of Elrod, AL; Granddaughter, Bethany (Bruce) Alexander; Grandson, Phillip (Amanda) Carden; Sister, Kathy King Heitzman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, Rev. Robert L. Carden; Parents, Joshua and Leona Albritton; 1 Brother; and 4 Sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison, AL.
