Miners throughout America owe a debt of gratitude to Lee, who worked for many years with the Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) as an inspector of both coal and metal/nonmetal mines. I got to know Lee when we investigated an explosion at an alumina plant in Gramercy, Louisiana in 1999, then held a public hearing into the causes of the explosion. Lee was a knowledgeable and fair-minded man of great integrity, and he stood up for mine safety first and foremost. I'm glad that I got the chance to know him... Heartfelt condolences to Lois and to all of Lee's family.

I am very sorry for your loss. Please know that your friends and loved ones are there for you during this difficult time. (Proverbs 17:17). For additional comfort please throw you anxieties on God because he care for you. (1 Peter 5:7) May your memories bring you a smile in the days ahead.
