RALPH WAYNE McLEOD, SR., age 74 of Alabaster, passed away on February 13, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Jefferson County on October 11, 1943; the son of the late Lonnie Jerome McLeod and the late Clara Lucille Whatley Warnick.
He retired as a Master Chief after 21 years of honorable service with the United States Navy. He later went on to retire from K-Mart where he worked as a security guard in the Homewood and Hoover stores.
He is survived by: Daughter, Alesia Williams; Son, Ralph (Tracy) McLeod, Jr; Son, Brandon (Janet) McLeod; Grandchildren: Joshua (Ashley) Williams, Kristen (Vic) Simonetti, Katelyn (Nick) Johnson, Matthew Williams, Briana McLeod, Brooke McLeod, Blake McLeod, Kayla McLeod, Caleb McLeod, Kristi Pope, and Drew McLeod; 13 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Martha Ann (Phillip) Cunningham; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Linda McLeod; Son, Michael McLeod; Son-in-Law, Frank Williams; Father, Lonnie Jerome McLeod; Mother, Clara Lucille Warnick; Brother, Sherman McLeod; Brother, Billy McLeod; and Sister, Betty Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 1:30pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera with Rev. Vic Simonette officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Burial with full military honors will follow at 2:45pm in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
