Casey Phillip Mathews, II

CASEY PHILLIP MATHEWS II, age 38 of Hoover, passed away on April 27, 2019 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. He was born in Birmingham, AL on April 25, 1981; the son of William Felix Mathews and Ana Carol Turner Mathews.

He was a chef in the food service industry. Casey leaves behind a legacy of being a good friend to everyone. He was kind hearted, and loved animals. He loved Auburn football and baseball, and was a huge Oakland A’s and New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by: Father, William Mathews of Huntsville; Mother, Ana Mathews of Hoover; Fiancé, Candice Nelson of Jemison; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 12:00 Noon in the historic Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, AL with Casey’s uncle Chaplain Kenneth Hall officiating.
