CHARLES RAY KROMER SR., age 86 of Clanton, passed away on November 4, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Shelby County on August 22, 1931; the son of the late Manuel Kromer and the late Ruby Northcutt Kromer.
He was a former carpenter.
He is survived by: Wife, Annie Kromer of Clanton; Son, Steve Kromer of Clanton; Daughter, Sheila Crocker of Maplesville; Special Son, Josh Wells of Clanton; Step-Son, Harvey (Teresa) Collins of Talladega; Step-Son, Kommie (Helen) Collins of Verbena; Step-Daughter, Tammy White of Clanton; 5 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild; Sister, Bonnie Ewing of Birmingham; Sister, Nell Kromer of Birmingham; Brother, Ertle Kromer of Childersburg; and Brother, Jimmy Kromer of Clanton.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Mary Alice Martin Kromer; Daughter, Cynthia Renee Kromer; Son, Charles Ray “Chuck” Kromer; Parents, Manuel and Ruby N. Kromer; Brothers, Frederick Kromer and Junior Kromer; and Sisters, Barbara Startley, Francis Grant, and Josephine Gore.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 2:00pm from Mineral Springs Baptist Church with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in the Mineral Springs Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made towards funeral expenses at the funeral home or through the funeral home website.
