Dakota Huntington Nivens, age 18, passed away on December 14, 2018.
Dakota was someone who loved God and always tried to find the best in everyone. He loved family and spending time together. He could always be counted on to bring a smile to any one he came in contact with. Dakota was loved, adored, and admired by everyone that knew him. He was a member of Dayspring Worship Center, a 2018 graduate of Sylacauga High School and was a member of the Pride Chilton County Marching Band for 5 years.
He is survived by his mother, Rhonda Wood; father, Robert Heath Nivens; brother, Carson Sumners; grandparents, George and Kathy Wood, grandparents, Jennifer and Randy Nichols; grandfather, Nick Nivens; three aunts, Rachel (Alan) McCord, Tiffeny Wood, Paula (Tommy) Eason; seven cousins, Cody (Caty) McCord, Colin McCord, Preston Freeman, Trinity Wood, Autumn Hill, Amber Freeman, Kalub Wood; and a host of other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Martha Collins, great-grandmother, Myrtle Garrett, great-grandmother, Margaret Kathleen Kelly, great-grandfather, George Wood, Sr., great-grandfather, ML Garrett, great-uncle, Jerry Collins, and cousin, Chelsea McCord.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from the Clanton First Assembly of God Church at 6:00 pm.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to Chilton County High School Marching Band.
