Joan (Moody) Moore

JOAN MOODY MOORE, age 84 of Clanton passed away on September 20, 2018 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. She was born in Memphis, TN on May 27, 1934, daughter of the late Ottoway “Otto” Moody and the late Bessie McClinney Moody.

She was a former school teacher and along with her husband they owned and operated Chilton Discount Pharmacy in Clanton for over 30 years.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Henry “Edward” Moore, Sr. of Clanton; Daughter, Cynthia Ann (Richard) Ford of LaPine, AL; Son, Henry E. (Audrea) Moore, Jr. of Verbena; Grandson, Evan Ford of LaPine, AL; Grandson, Hunter Moore of Tuscaloosa; and Grandson, Alden Moore of Verbena.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 2:00pm from the Clanton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wes Kelley and Rev. Meghan Kelly officiating.

The family will recieve friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be in the Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.

The family requests no flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Clanton First United Methodist Church or Hospice of West Alabama.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for the excellent care given to Mrs. Moore to the staff of Crimson Village Care Facility of Tuscaloosa, Pine Valley Assisted Living of Tuscaloosa, and Hospice of West Alabama of Tuscaloosa.
