Larry Dale Ellison

LARRY DALE ELLISON, age 67 of Jemison, passed away on March 28, 2018 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. He was born in Chilton County on November 26, 1950, son of the late Jimmy Ellison and the late Ollie Mae Brewer Ellison.

He was a coal miner.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina (Thomas) Hollis of Jemison; Special Friend, Brenda Matthews of Calera and her daughter, Renae (Chris) Bice of Calera; Grandchildren, Courtney Hollis of Jemison, Brittney (Travis) Smith of Jemison, Rhiley Bice of Calera, and Raven Bice of Calera; Great-grandchildren, Katie Robinson of Jemison, Corbin Smith of Jemison, Grayson Smith of Jemison, and Mason Smith of Jemison; Sister, Mary Charles Paschal of Jemison; Brother, Donald Ray (Lavada) Ellison of Jemison; Sister-in-law, Jettie Mae Ellison of Jemison; Sister-in-law, Mary E. Ellison of Jemison; and a host of numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Ollie Mae Ellison; Brothers, Joe O. Ellison, Chester Ellison, and Jim Ellison; and Brother-in-law, Joe Frank Paschal.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 from the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton at 11:00am with the Rev. Calvin Smitherman officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Hope Community Cemetery in Jemison.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
