Mark Anthony Jordan

MARK ANTHONY JORDAN, age 51 of Alabaster, passed away suddenly on September 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Alabaster on January 24, 1968; the son of Charles Jordan and Linda Jarvis Russell.

Mark attended the Early Childhood Program at the University of Montevallo, The Opportunity Center in Birmingham, Shelby County ARC in Alabaster, the Linda Nolen Learning Center in Columbiana, and the Mitchell Center in Calera.

Mark was a resident of the 4th Avenue Home in Alabaster, where he loved his fellow roommates. He loved to go for rides where he would point out all the churches they passed along the way. The rides would often involve stopping to eat, which Mark loved to do. His favorite place was McDonalds, where he always enjoyed a large cup of sweet tea. Mark loved attending church services, especially the fifth Sunday night singings at Thompson Chapel Assembly of God Church where he loved fast paced gospel music. He will be remembered for his love of people, always shaking hands or giving a loving embrace.

He is survived by: Father, Charles Jordan of Billingsley; Mother, Linda Russell of Clanton; Step-Father, Phillip Russell of Clanton; Step-Mother, Carolyn Jordan of Billingsley; Brother, Randy (Kim) Jordan of Wilsonville; Step-Sister, Kim (Kirk) Mims of Jemison; Step-Brother, Jerry (Erica) Russell of Spring Hill, TN; Step-Brother, Scott (Janet) Russell of Tampa, FL; Step-Brother, James Nickerson of Billingsley; Nephew, Nathan (Darci) Jordan of Jemison; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 2:00pm from the Thompson Chapel Assembly of God Church in Jemison with Rev. Luther Ellison and Rev. Mark Bolton officiating.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in the Pea Ridge community of Montevallo, AL.
