Mary Lavelle Vinson, age 79 of Calera, passed away on July 15, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 16, 1938 in Vernon, Alabama, daughter of the late Thomas Lymon Lawrence and the late Bessie Adaline Maddox Lawrence.
Lavelle was a homemaker for most of her life. In later years, she and her late husband of 52 years, J.B. Vinson, owned and operated and fur business for about 20 years. Lavelle had a love for her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren when she would get to watch them play and swim in her pool. She loved to talk to on the phone and just people in general and taking care of her flowers. She will always be remembered as a special lady that a huge heart full of love.
She is survived by children, Eddie (Cindy) Braxton Vinson, David (Tabitha) Lawrence Vinson, and Renee (Billy) Eiland; Grandchildren, Jonathan (Brook) Vinson, Amelia Reeves, Matthew Vinson and Katie Eiland; Great-grandchildren, Braxton Vinson, Christian Reeves, and Harper Vinson; Sister, Willa Dean Sewell; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Roger and Patricia Brown; and nieces and nephews, Loyt Lawrence, Tony Lawrence, Chad Wheeler, Joey Sandlin, Judy Chism, Patsy Lawrence, Leigh Ann Sandlin, and Molly Wheeler.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas L. and Bessie Adaline Lawrence and her husband, J.B. Vinson.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home at Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera with Rev. Jeff Clark officiating
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
