Rev. James "Willard" Scott

REV. JAMES ‘WILLARD’ SCOTT, age 70 of Jemison, passed away on December 13, 2017 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. He was born on December 1, 1947, son of the late Oscar Dovard Scott and the late Lillian Christine Day Scott.

He was a pastor and evangelist for more than 25 years for the Church of God.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Denise Scott of Jemison; Son, Jamie Scott of Jemison; Special Daughter, Savanna Denise (Dylan) Patterson; Special Son, James Skylor Scott of Jemison; Special Grandson, Kade Patterson of Jemison; Grandsons, Chris Alberts of Clanton and Austin Scott of Clanton; 1 Great-grandson; 1 Great- granddaughter; Siblings, Gary Wayne Scott of Jemison, Mary Scott Binion of Jemison; Rita Scott Liveoak of Montevallo, and Joann Scott Smith of Russellville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lillian Scott; Son, Michael Dovard Scott; and brothers, Johnny Earls Scott and William “Buddy” Scott.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00am from the Calvary Hill Church of God in Jemison with Rev. Bruce Lavan, Rev. Wayne Rouse, and Rev. Raymond Stewart officiating.

Burial will follow in the Scott Cemetery in Thorsby.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday at the church.
