THOMAS LEE EDWARDS, age 74 of Maplesville, passed away on July 16, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on November 17, 1943; the son of the late Luther Lee Edwards and the late Cynthia Vivian Coker Edwards.
He was a truckdriver in the log woods. He enjoyed piddling with automobiles and being a mechanic. He will be remembered by family for being a jokester and always wanting to have a good laugh.
He is survived by: Daughter, Dell Edwards of Clanton; Daughter, Janice (Jim) Miller of Clanton; Daughter, Rita (Kevin) Smith of Maplesville; Son, Gary (Kellye) Edwards of Clanton; Daughter, Gerri Ann Moore of Clanton; Son, Neal Allen (Tina) Edwards of Clanton; Daughter, Vivian Lynn (John) Horton of Manchester, TN; Step-Son, Kevin (Brandy) McAlpin of Clanton; Step-Daughter, Christina Boggs of Clanton; Step-Son, Benjamin Boggs of Clanton; 17 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Margaret Fuller of Clanton; Sister, Carolyn Smitherman of Clanton; and Brother, Ray Edwards of Clanton.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Edna Edwards.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:00am from the Church of God’s Word with Rev. Ray Edwards and Rev. Roland Hazel officiating.
The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
