WILLIAM A. “TINY” CHAMPION, age 69 of Elmore, passed away on August 25, 2019 at his residence after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Bessemer, AL on June 4, 1950.
He retired from the city of Montgomery, where he was a heavy equipment operator. Tiny loved hunting, especially deer hunting. After he was no longer able to go hunting, he would use game cameras to photograph deer and other wildlife. He also enjoyed the craft of wood burning and design.
He is survived by: Daughter, Heather Champion of Elmore; Son, Charles Champion of Randolph; Sister, Linda (Billy) Mercer of Elmore; Brother, Donald Champion of Elmore; Brother, Ronald (Mary) Champion of Elmore; and Sister-in-Law, Linda Champion of Elmore.
He is preceded in death by: Grandson, Travis S. Headley; Parents, Emmett and Edna Blankenship; and Brother, David “Gene” Champion.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:00am from the Crossroads Community Church (formerly Mt. Hebron West Baptist Church) in Elmore with Dr. Jim Graham and Rev. Jeremy Jones officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in the Davis Annex Cemetery in Elmore, AL.
