WILLIAM EDWARD “BILLY” WINSLETT, age 77 of Randolph, passed away on January 22, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Birmingham, AL. He was born in Wilton, AL on December 24, 1941; the son of the late George Jewel Winslett and the late Jessie Adams Winslett.
He was a former mechanic. He was a great and loving husband, father, and granddaddy. He never met a stranger and lived out Matthew 22:39 “ Thou shalt love thine neighbor as thy self.”
He is survived by: Wife, Sharon Winslett of Randolph; Son, DeWayne (Lisa) Winslett of Clanton; Son, David (Vickki) Winslett of Clanton; Granddaughter, Heather Winslett (Derrick) Smith of Thorsby; Grandson, Will Winslett of Cleveland, AL; Granddaughter, Priscilla Winslett of Clanton; Grandson, Reece (Desiree) Winslett of Thorsby; Great Grandchildren: Noah Smith, Braxton Smith, and Ayla Winslett; Sister, Elizabeth Winslett Hyde of Georgia; Sister-in-Law, Bobbie Dee Winslett of Montevallo; along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by: Parents, George and Jessie Winslett; and Brothers: Jimmy Winslett, Ray Winslett, and Leroy Winslett.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2:00pm from Union Springs Baptist Church.
The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow in the Union Springs Baptist Cemetery in Randolph, AL.
