Anita Faye (Dawson) Smith

ANITA FAYE (DAWSON) SMITH, age 69 of Verbena passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 11, 2024. She was born in Alabama on September 5, 1955, daughter of the late Thomas Dawson and the late Faye Lucas.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her home. Anita enjoyed gardening and always had a green thumb. She loved home remedies and keeping herbs.

She is survived by her Loving Husband, Jerry Wayne Smith of Verbena; Step-father, Chester Lucas of Montevallo; Daughter, Amanda (Allen) Ray of Verbena; Son, Wayne (Tammy) Smith of Verbena; Son, Shannon Smith of Verbena; Daughter, Charity (Jimbo) Loftis of Tuscaloosa; Son, Josh (Haley) Smith of Jemison; a host of Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; and she was the oldest of seven siblings.

She is preceded in death by her Father, Thomas Dawson; Mother, Faye Lucas; and Grandson, Mikey “her little peanut”.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Teddy Chadwick officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral expenses.
