Barbara Ann (Varden) Hayes

BARBARA ANN (VARDEN) HAYES, age 61 of Thorsby, passed away on August 7, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Chilton County on September 11, 1962; the daughter of the late Bernie Varden and the late Bertha Lee Littleton Varden.

She was a former lunchroom lady with the Chilton County Board of Education serving the Jemison schools. She loved everyone and enjoyed raising “her babies.” Her grandchildren were the love of her life and her pride and joy.

She is survived by: Husband, Ricky Hayes of Thorsby; Daughter, Rachel (Cameron) Beam of Jemison; Daughter, Megan (Zack) Moore of Thorsby; 6 Grandchildren; Brothers: Ed Varden of Cullman, Danny (Teresa) Varden of Jemison, Larry (Paige) Varden of Jemison, and Tim (Dorothy) Varden of Jemison; and Sister, Donna (William) Hayes of Clanton.

She is preceded in death by: Grandson, Inf. Gavin Beam; Parents, Bernie and Bertha Varden; and Brother, James Varden.

At Ann’s request no services will be held.

The family request no flowers. Donations may be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home in her memory.
