Brandon Kirk Veazey was born on August 1, 1991 and went to meet his Lord and Savior, October 29, 2020. He was born in Raleigh, NC, and moved to Maplesville, Alabama to live with his family in middle school. After graduating from Isabella High School, he moved back to Raleigh.
Brandon loved all sports and was very competitive, playing outfielder, relief pitcher and short stop in baseball and quarterback and receiver in football, both for Isabella High School. He was a huge University of Alabama football fan. He also loved outdoor activities like four-wheeling and dirt biking.
Brandon genuinely loved people and was an energetic, fun-loving individual with a smile that could light up a room. He had a huge heart for those around him. He will be remembered for his trust in the Lord and as a person who was not afraid to speak his mind about his beliefs.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Veazey of Maplesville, AL, whom he shared a very special bond with; his grandmother, Dorthey Fox of Shelby, AL, and his maternal grandmother, Hilda Jones, of Wendell NC.
Brandon leaves behind a large, loving family. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Selena and Ronny Veazey, his brother; Justin (Ashley) Ellis and their children, Kennedy and Eason; and his sister, Erika Minor. On his maternal side, he leaves behind his grandfather, Charles Jones; many aunts and uncles, Audrey (Al) McSwain, Carolyn Jones, Mary Newsome, Jennifer Lambert, and David (Kim) Jones; as well as a slew of “Jones” cousins, Josh (Jennifer), Grant (Libby), Philip (Megan), Amaret (Miguel), Chad (Jamie), Connor, and Chase as well as all of their children. On his paternal side, he leaves behind his grandmother, Charlene Richards of Plymouth, NC; his aunt, Sherry (Reid) Buckner of Maplesville, AL; Cousins, Amanda (Justin) Cleckler of Maplesville, AL, Rebecca (Brandon) Edwards of Maplesville, AL and many family and friends in Alabama.
Brandon struggled for quite some time. However, his addiction could not touch the true nature of his heart. While we mourn a life cut tragically short, we rest in the comfort that Brandon is finally at peace and standing at the feet of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 7th at 11:00am at Mulberry Baptist Church, 12268 County Road 15, Maplesville, Alabama 36750.
