Brenda Joyce (Ghita) Gentry

BRENDA JOYCE (GHITA) GENTRY, age 73 of Jemison, passed away peacefully from this world into the arms of Jesus on November 8, 2023 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. She was born in Montgomery, AL on September 8, 1950; the daughter of the late John Edward Ghita and the late Wauline Elizabeth Ghita.

She was a baker and a homemaker. She loved her family, fishing (especially with her grandchildren: Asa, Jace, and Grant), cooking, and taking care of people any opportunity she had. She was a very Godly woman and always preached the Word to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by: Daughter, Loralee Strength; Son, Leland Miller; Daughter, Amanda Fanning; Son, Adam Gentry; Grandchildren: Asa Strength, Jace Fanning, and Grant Fanning; Sister, Joan Milner; Brother, Mike (Phyllis) Ghita; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Granddaughter, Marlana Danielle Miller; Parents, John Edward and Wauline Elizabeth Ghita.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. Daniel Wilson officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family request in lieu of flowers please make a memorial contribution to the American Cancer Society in Brenda’s memory.
