Carole Marie (Inman) Ward

CAROLE MARIE (INMAN) WARD, age 82 of Thorsby, passed away on January 27, 2023. She was born in Fairfield Alabama on October 6, 1940, the daughter of the late Millard Asbury Inman and Inez Shook Inman.

She was a housewife and homemaker who will be remembered as a loving wife and mother of three. She was a kind and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a creative person who loved decorating for the holidays, tole painting, gardening, cooking, and caring for her family. Carole always enjoyed working with her hands and she passed along her creative spirit to her children.

She was married for 59 years to her beloved husband, Wilford Ellis “Sonny” Ward. Sonny went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2019. Their family is comforted in the knowledge that they have been reunited in eternity.

Carole is survived by: Daughter, Michele Sanders of Knoxville, TN; Son, Darryl Ward of Orlando, FL; Son, Rodney Ward of Slidell, LA; Grandchildren, Ellen Coffman, Christopher Ward, Beth Tuesburg, Tyler Ward, Kelsey Ennis, Emily Ward, Elise Ward, Nathan Ward, Alivia Clark-Ward and Joshua Ward; 8 Great Grandchildren; and her brother Donald Inman of Verbena, AL.

She is preceded in death by: Father, Millard Inman; Mother, Inez Inman; and husband Sonny Ward.

A memorial service celebrating Carole’s life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM located at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home, 1709 Lay Dam Road, Clanton, AL.

The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a contribution in Carole’s memory to the Gentiva Foundation in support of hospice care in central Alabama.
