Carolyn Sue (Paris) Motes

CAROLYN SUE (PARIS) MOTES, age 77 of Montevallo, passed away on June 26, 2024 at her residence. She was born in Calhoun County, AL on October 22, 1946; the daughter of the late George Lee Paris and the late Effie Mae Anthony Paris.

She was a former custodian at the University of Montevallo. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She lived for her grandchildren.

She is survived by: Husband, Benny Motes of Montevallo; Daughter, Dollie (Erek) Lewis of Montevallo; Grandchildren: Jarvis Powell of Montevallo, Morgan Howland of Pleasant Hill, MO, Nathan (Moth) Moreland of Montevallo, Aubrey (Anthony) Keenum of Calera, Cameron (Amanda) Moreland of Montevallo, Erek Lewis of Telford, PA, Bella Lewis of Montevallo, Aubree Lewis of Montevallo, and Amirah Lewis of Montevallo; 5 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Sarah Rainey of Piedmont; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Shelby Memory Gardens Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Calera with Sis. Patti Motes officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, AL.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to the Ellison Memorial Funeral Home at Shelby Memory Gardens of Calera, AL.
