Carolyn Sue (Miller) Proctor

CAROLYN SUE (MILLER) PROCTOR, age 78 of Clanton, passed away on March 25, 2022 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. She was born in McClain County, KY on July 7, 1943; the daughter of the late Albert Miller and the late Florene Hopkins Miller.

On April 16, 1965 she was united in marriage to Rodney Proctor, with whom she enjoyed 56 years of marriage with. Carolyn has enjoyed a lifetime of blessings as she has touched many lives. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, and awesome grandmother and great grandmother. Family was everything to her, and she lived her life centered around it.

Carolyn also enjoyed the blessings of being a missionary wife. Along with her husband, they took the Gospel to the Sioux Indians in South Dakota and to the Hispanics in El Salvatoria, Mexico. They saw lives come to know the Lord as their personal saviour. Carolyn’s memory will continue to linger in our hearts and lives forever as we cherish the memories and examples she left.

She is survived by: Husband, Rodney Proctor, Sr. of Clanton; Daughter, Angela (Butch) Mace of Clanton; Son, Rodney (Teresa) Proctor, Jr. of Clanton; Son, John (Rebekah) Proctor of Dalton, GA; Son, James Proctor of Verbena; 16 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Sister, Jessie Whitmer of KY; and Brother, Elvis Miller of KY.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 12:00 Noon from the Victory Baptist Temple in Calera, AL with Pastor David Johnston officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow the service at 2:00pm in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
