Catherine (Limbrick) Summerlin

CATHERINE LIMBRICK SUMMERLIN, age 77 of the Indian Grave community in Billingsley, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024 with her beloved husband, Hiram Wayne Summerlin, by her side. Though her children were spread around the globe, their love and thoughts were with her in her final moments.

Catherine and Wayne shared 58 wonderful years, celebrating their anniversary this past November. She was a proud mother to Michael and Kady Summerlin, David Summerlin, and Mark and Michelle Porter; a devoted grandmother to Alex and Lottie Young, Kinsley Summerlin and Issac Day, Megan Porter, and Molly Porter; and a cherished great grandmother to Miles Young and Weston Day. She is also survived by her loving niece, Cheryl Hood.

Her compassion, strength, and love left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Catherine lived her life guided by her favorite prayer, the Serenity Prayer:

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”

Her unwavering faith and wisdom were a source of strength for her family and friends, and her legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 2:00pm from Pleasant Hill Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Kelley officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Methodist Cemetery in Billingsley, AL.

The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to the Pleasant Hill Methodist Cemetery Fund.
