CHARLES ARTHUR COLEMAN, age 82 of Marbury, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2025. He was born in Jefferson County on May 6, 1942, the son of the late James Arthur and Ruth Luverne Coleman.
Charles was a great businessman. Throughout his lifetime, he sold pianos, ran service stations, sold tools, owned several video stores, ran a wrecker service, taught music schools, and the list goes on and on. Music was a huge part of Charles’s life. He especially loved southern gospel music. He instilled this love for music in his five daughters who passed it on to their children as well. He bought nearly 300 acres in Marbury, Alabama in 1992. Melody Hill Farms has been the home of the entire Coleman family ever since. Charles was married to his loving wife for 59 years until the Lord called her home in 2024. He adored his five daughters and loved his whole family beyond measure. Most of all, Charles was a servant of Christ. He was a founding member of Bible Believers Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for fifteen years. He loved the Lord with all his heart and faithfully served him for 82 years until God called him home.
He is survived by: Daughters: Lynn Pullen (John), Sherri Robinson, Julie Byrd (Joey), Patricia Hudman (Brian), and Melissa Cole (Phillip); Grandchildren: Ashley Galloway, Chip Pullen (Leslie), Chad Robinson (Allison), Cole Robinson (Bethany), Will Byrd (Morgan), Andy Cole, Nathan Byrd, and Anna Dorman (Nick);9 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Jimmy Coleman; Sisters, Donna Brantley (Buddy) and Debbie Bird (Butch); Brother-in-Law, Steve Harris; and a Host of Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Betty Ann Coleman; Father, James Arthur Coleman; Mother, Ruth Luverne Coleman; Son-in-Law, Michael Wayne Robinson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 10:00am from Bible Believers Baptist Church with Rev. John Pullen, Rev. Joey Byrd, and Rev. Chip Pullen officiating.
Burial will follow in the Thorsby Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby, AL.
Pallbearers will be: Chip Pullen, Chad Robinson, Cole Robinson, Will Byrd, Andy Cole, and Nathan Byrd.
