CHARLES LEE FALLS, JR., age 88 of Clanton, passed away suddenly on August 6, 2022 at St. Vincent-Chilton Hospital following an automobile accident. He was born in Epes, Alabama on March 27, 1934; the son of the late Charles Lee Falls, Sr. and the late Arlette Cunningham Falls.
Charles honorably served his country in the United States Air Force with service during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired after on honorable 20-year career. He would go on to continue to serve his local community in Chilton County and retire as a sheriff’s deputy with the Chilton County Sherriff’s Department. He also served several local municipalities as well during his law enforcement career. He was also a Shriner and member of the Masonic Lodge in Albany, GA.
He is survived by: Daughter, Susan (Jack) Barrett of Jemison; Son, Donald (Beverly) Falls of Lake Mary, FL; Son, David (Holly) Falls of Cashiers, TN; Son, Buster Falls of Ocoee, FL; 10 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great Grandchildren; and Fiance, Ruby Ballard of Clanton.
He is preceded in death by: Wife, Marie Falls; Son, Douglas Falls; and Parents, Charles Lee, Sr. and Arlette C. Falls.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral home in Clanton with Rev. Michael Cheatham officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial with full military honors will follow the service at 1:15pm in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
Members of the Chilton County Sherriff’s Department will serve as pallbearers.
The family request no flowers, but encourage donations in Charles’ memory be made to The Wounded Warriors Project.
