Charlotte Christine (Hudgins) Marino

CHARLOTTE CHRISTINE (HUDGINS) MARINO, age 47 of Clanton, passed away on April 17, 2025, at Baptist Health - Shelby Hospital. Born in Chilton County on June 10, 1977, Charlotte was the beloved daughter of Ricky Lynn Johnston and the late Sue Hudgins.

Chrissy was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished "GiGi" to her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her family—whether cheering from the sidelines at her children’s baseball and football games or spending time with her grandchildren, she was always present, always proud, and always full of love.

She found peace and happiness in her visits to the beach, especially at Gulf State Park Pier, where she enjoyed fishing and the simple beauty of the ocean. Country music was the soundtrack of her life, and she could often be found singing along to her favorite songs with a smile on her face.

Chrissy also shared her caring nature with the community as a substitute teacher at Verbena High School, where she was known for her warmth and kindness.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her—as a beacon of love, support, and unwavering devotion.

She is survived by: Husband, Joseph Marino, Sr.; Sons: Joseph Marino, Jr., Jacob Marino, and Johnathan Marino; Daughter, Amelia Marino; Grandchildren: Kannon Marino, Arleigh Bridges, and Korbin Marino; Father, Ricky Lynn Johnston; Brothers, David Johnston and Rickey Simmons; and sister, Valerie Johnston.

She is preceded in death by: Mother, Sue Hudgins; Grandparents, Robert and Mary Johnston; and Aunt, Kathy Johnston.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 5-7pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton, AL.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Jordan officiating.

Burial will follow in the Floyd Baptist Cemetery in Verbena, AL.
