CHERYL LYNN (CASH) ROBINSON, age 76, of Clanton, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, in Columbiana, Alabama.
She was born in DeKalb County, Alabama on November 15, 1949, the daughter of the late Edgar Lamar Cash and the late Mary Ann Martin Cash.
Cheryl devoted her life to serving both her community and her faith. She began her career in public safety in August of 1979 as a radio operator at the old Chilton County Jail. In 1991, she helped establish Chilton County’s E911 system and became the county’s first E911 Director. Over her distinguished 28-year career, she served under six sheriffs and supported countless officers and first responders, including honoring the memory of four fallen officers.
Among her many accomplishments, Cheryl took great pride in serving as a member of the Alabama Care Team, traveling to New York to provide aid and support to rescue workers and officers following the tragic events of September 11th. Her compassion for victims and their families also led her to faithfully serve with VOCAL (Victims of Crime and Leniency) from 1997 until her health no longer allowed her to remain as active as she wished.
Her servant’s heart extended far beyond her profession. Cheryl was a longtime member of Collins Chapel Baptist Church for over 40 years before later joining Lomax Assembly of God. In both churches, she was known for her dedicated involvement in grief support ministry, faithfully making phone calls, sending cards, and offering comfort to families during their most difficult days. She never missed an opportunity to remind someone they were loved and remembered.
More than anything, Cheryl cherished her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose steady presence, strength, and kindness will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sister, Myra (Van) Howell; brother, Rodney (Glenda) Stewart; sons, Danny (Kim) Robinson and Raymond (Jennifer) Robinson; daughter, Rachel Robinson Wesson; daughters-in-law, Tara (Rick) Simmons and Carla (Keith Headley) Robinson; special friend, Helen (Jay) Edwards; grandchildren, Jeff (Cindy) Cobb, Justin (Jordan) Robinson, Taylor Robinson, Alex Robinson, Ryan Robinson, Jeremy Deavers, Ryan Headley, Brittney (Todd) Chestnut, Kayla (Becky) Robinson, Amber (Matthew) Bowman, Kelse (Al) Moore, Kortney (Jaycob) Hanel, Lindsey (Cody) Scott, Rena Robinson, Shanna Latham, Sommer (Tyler) Smith, Kristen Headley; Aiden "Chicky" Littlefield; Blakelee Russell; and John Russell; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Robinson; sons, Jeffrey Robinson and Michael Robinson; daughter, Lavettia Edmondson; her parents, Mary Ann Martin Cash and Edgar Lamar (Helen Lorene) Cash; brothers, Edgar Lamar Cash, Jr. and Tony Stewart; and sister, Lisa Cash Robinson.
