Christopher Burns Obituary

Christopher "Chris"  Burns lived a full and faithful life as a loving husband, father, "Pops", son, brother, and friend.  Chris was born in Dallas, TX in 1958 to Thomas and Shirley Burns, who instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to God through faith.  Chris was 67 years old and living in Clanton, AL when he passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, surrounded by the resounding love of his family.

Chris and his wife, Angie Burns, shared a life built on love, faith, and companionship.  They had a deep love for traveling, exploring destinations around the world as well as finding joy in simple adventures closer to home.  Whether abroad or gathered around a campsite, Chris embraced every experience with curiosity, gratitude, and joy.  His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and he had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed and valued.

Chris was a devoted father to his five children and a strong father-figure to many others. Always the first person everyone called for advice or assistance, he answered with patience, wisdom, and steadfast love.  In every action, Chris lived out the principle of covenant love-faithful, enduring, and unwavering-epitomizing the power of love rooted in commitment.

Chris will be fondly remembered for his quirky humor, love of wordplay, and deep dedication to caring for those he loved.  He had a remarkable collection of random trivia and was always eager to share practical household tips and tricks to make life a little easier.  We could not have asked for a better man in every role he filled and he will be deeply missed every day.  His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

Above all, Chris believed deeply in the importance of covenant love.  He lived this belief daily through his devotion to God, his marriage, his family, and every relationship he was entrusted with.  His life serves as a lasting reminder that love, when lived as a covenant, has the power to strengthen families, build communities, and leave a legacy that endures far beyond a lifetime.

In addition to his wife and children, Chris is survived by his parents, four siblings, and an extensive network of both blood and chosen family.

A service celebrating Chris' life will be held at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton, AL on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris'  honor may be made to the National Park Foundation, reflecting his love of adventure and the outdoors.
