CLINTON JACKSON CARLISLE, JR., age 68 of Verbena, passed away on March 7, 2021 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. He was born in Clanton, AL on March 9, 1952; the son of the late Clinton Jackson Carlisle, Sr. and the late Margaret Eiland Carlisle.

He was a former school bus driver with Hoover City Schools. He loved being involved with baseball and softball with his kids and grandchildren. He loved spending time on Lake Mitchell water skiing. He also enjoyed being at the rodeos and working the arena. When he was younger he was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow. It was growing up that he received the nickname “Tractor Jack” because of his father’s ownership of the local International Harvester dealership.

He is survived by: Wife, Dorothy L. Carlisle of Verbena; Daughter, Laura Odom of Alabaster; Son, Clinton Jackson Carlisle, III of Shelby; Daughter, Christina Lynn Register of Helena; Grandchildren: Steve, Makalla, Emma, Cohen, Mattie, Amzey, Mason, Gage, and Sophia; and Sister, Lynn Yates of Birmingham.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 6:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton with Rev. Matt Rush officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
