Cynthia Diane (Taff) Collado

CYNTHIA DIANE (TAFF) COLLADO, age 52 of Plantersville, passed away suddenly on November 26, 2023 at Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL. She was born in Jasper, AL on July 4, 1971; the daughter of the late Donald Edward Thornton and Ramona Mitchell Thornton.

She was a former rest area attendant with the state of Alabama. She was affectionately known by her family and friends as “Pooh Bear.” She enjoyed playing the game of “Dungeons and Dragons.” Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by: Husband, Lamar Dean of Plantersville; Mother, Ramona Thornton of Montevallo; Daughter, Kristen Anthony of Plantersville; Daughter, Savannah Hall of Plantersville; Daughter, Bethany Blackburn of Dawsonville, GA; Grandchildren: Daniel Sanchez, Evan Hall, Sebastian Hall, Eisabeth Hall, and Charlie “Jake” Blackburn; Sister, Kelly Martin of Alabaster; Sister, Miriam Travis of Montevallo; Sister, Sherry Hollis of Plantersville; Nephews: Caleb Travis, Joshua Hunt, Ben Travis, Michael Hunt, and Nathaniel Hollis; and Niece, Michaela Creel.

She is preceded in death by, Father, Donald Thornton.

The family is planning on holding a memorial service at a later date.
