Cynthia Kaye (Mitchell) Wilson

CYNTHIA KAYE (MITCHELL) WILSON, age 53 of Jemison, passed away on November 1, 2025 at Baptist Health-Shelby Hospital in Alabaster, AL. She was born in Chilton County on August 14, 1972, the daughter of the late Leggs Junior Mitchell and the late Johnnie Faye Porter Mitchell.

Cindy worked for over 17 years as a clerk and stocker at Bargain Town, where she was known for her friendly smile, hardworking spirit, and the way she treated customers and coworkers like family. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping at thrift stores, always excited to find a hidden treasure or bargain to share. She loved her family dearly and treasured every moment she spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Cindy was a strong, caring, and sweet woman, quick to offer help and always looking out for the ones she loved. Her sweetness, however, was not to be underestimated—she had a little sting when necessary and wasn’t afraid to make her viewpoint known when it mattered, a quality that endeared her to many.

She is survived by her husband, Shawn Wilson of Jemison; sons, Billy Craig Wilson of Jemison and Bobby Wilson of Jemison; daughters, Haley (Teresa) Wilson of Jemison and Cynthia (Brandon) Thrash of Jemison; and grandchildren, Trinity Smith, Dakota Wilson, Trevor Wilson, and Brianna Wilson.

She is preceded in death by her grandson, Inf. Trenton Gene Wilson; parents, Leggs and Johnnie Faye Mitchell; and brother, Randy Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the New Hope Community Cemetery in Jemison, AL.
