Debbie Darlene (Ainsworth) Smitherman

DEBBIE DARLENE (AINSWORTH) SMITHERMAN, age 62 of Clanton, passed away on March 16, 2023 at St. Vincent-Birmingham Hospital. She was born in Brandon, Mississippi on July 16, 1960; the daughter of the late William Carry Ainsworth and the late Sara Linda Clark Ainsworth.

She was the former owner of Debbie’s Side Street Café and BBQ. She was a wonderful friend, mother, special lady, and everyone’s mama. She loved the lord and had been saved since she was a child.

She is survived by: Husband, David Lee Smitherman of Clanton; Daughter, Rachel Noelle Smitherman of Clanton; Sister, Margie Patterson (Jerry) Moore of Jackson, MS; Niece, Tammy McCardle of Pearl, MS; Niece, Deidre (Patrick) Griffin of Jemison; and a host of Great Nieces and Nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Parents, William and sara Ainsworth; Brother, Jerry Patterson; and Sister, Diane Windham.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton, AL. with Rev. Jeff Mims officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Jemison, AL.
