Debra Ann (James) Kerstner

DEBRA KERSTNER, age 67 of Thorsby, loving mother of two, and adoring wife to her husband, Jeffrey Kerstner, passed away in the early morning hours of November 21, 2025 following a battle with heart failure. Debra was born in 1958 in Wisconsin. She met her husband in 1982 at a favorite spot of theirs in Wausau.

As a mother she was giving, kind, and loving. She would do anything for her two daughters. If she wasn’t spoiling them, she was spoiling her grandchildren. She had five grandsons that she loved unconditionally. In her free time, she enjoyed doing various arts and crafts, canning, reading, and being with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, especially her two daughters, Nikki and Amanda.

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.” Until we meet again, we all love you.

Debra is survived by: Husband, Jeffrey Kerstner of Thorsby; Daughter, Nikki (Vernon) Bigbee of Columbiana; Daughter, Amanda (Justin) Bussey of Calera; Grandsons: Dylan, Daethon, Evan, Eli, and Ethan; Sister, Sue (Richard) Schram of Oshkosh, WI; one sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially Jeanne Osheim and Stephen Johnson.

The family will hold a private service at a later date.
