Debra Lynn (Echols) Mims

DEBRA LYNN (ECHOLS) MIMS, age 68 of Clanton, passed away on May 23, 2024 at her residence and surrounded by her family. She was born in Jefferson County, AL on June 11, 1955; the daughter of the late William G. Echols and the late Wilma J. Parker Glaze.

Debbie spent the vast majority of her life caring for others. She served her community as a paramedic for 18 years. She went on to pursue a nursing degree and became a registered nurse. She served the home healthcare community as a RN for over 20 years. Her biggest influence was upon her family where she was a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Her family brought her tremendous joy and happiness.

She is survived by: Husband, James Mims of Clanton; Daughter, Sebrena (Geoff) Holcomb of Clanton; Daughter, Teresa (Ricky) Smith of Clanton; Daughter, April (Sam) Walden of Clanton; Daughter, Kaitlyn Mims of Clanton; Grandchildren: Codi (Jared) Burnette, Trahe (Savannah) Smith, Brandon (Bella) Beck, Haleigh (Brannon) Johnson, Courtney (Nathan) Jenkins, Aspynn Smith, Gracie (Alex) Smith, Ryan Walden, David and Dylan, and bonus grandson Carson Koralewski; 15 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Butch Echols of Mobile; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by: Grandsons, Blake and Ricky Allen Smith; Great Grandson, River Blake Smith; Parents, William Echols and Jean Glaze; Sister, Angela Johnson; and Brother, Steve Echols.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00am from Jackson Chapel Church with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
