LILLIAN DENISE (GREEN) GORE-HAYES, age 65 of Clanton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Chilton County on April 5, 1960, the daughter of the late Herbert Cecil Green and the late Myrtle Louise Anderson Green.
Lillian lived a life anchored in faith, family, and compassion. A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and faithful friend, she was known for her kind heart and gentle spirit. She found great joy in worship and was a dedicated member of Vermont Holiness Church, where she loved praising the Lord and fellowshipping with her church family.
She is survived by her loving husband, Norman Terry Hayes of Clanton; sons: William Wade Lockhart of Las Vegas, NV, and Derrick Brandon Lockhart of Clanton; and stepdaughter, Beth (Chris) Farley of Carrollton, GA.
She also leaves behind her sisters: Diane Sanderson of Meridianville, AL, Deborah Avery of Clanton, and Darlene Bastien of Ft. Worth, TX; brothers: Buddy (Brenda) Green of Clanton and Joey (Angie) Green of Maplesville; Uncle: Hayward Carter, and a special niece, Tabitha (Scott) Burnett of Jemison.
Her extended family includes sister-in-laws: Rebecca (Bob) Burkett of Grayson, GA, Nancy Gore of Clanton, and Cindy (Scott) Garret of Roanoke; special friends: Leda Ann (Jerry) Green of Maplesville, Hazel (Ray Wood) Butler of Verbena, and Aunt Gladys Bond of Maplesville; as well as Uncle Bob (Eva) Green and Uncle Ted (Jan) Green, both of Maplesville. She is also survived by a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Gore; her parents; her sister, Kim Wright; grandparents: Grady and Lillian Green and Dewey and Maggie Anderson; and brothers-in-law: Edward Sanderson, Jim Avery, Leo Bastien, and Bobby Gore.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton.
A celebration of her life will take place on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home, with Rev. Joey Green, Rev. Dale Simmons, and Rev. Ethridge Smith officiating.
She will be laid to rest at Maple Springs Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
Lillian's life was a living testimony of love, faith, and grace. Though her presence will be dearly missed, her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
