Donnie Ray Blackmon

DONNIE RAY BLACKMON, age 67 of Thorsby, passed away on February 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on August 16, 1953; the son of the late Edward O’Neal Blackmon and the late Mary Magdalene Warren Blackmon.

He was a former carpenter who enjoyed woodworking. Donnie was a loving and devoted husband, father, and Pop.

He is survived by: Wife, Peggy Blackmon of Thorsby; Son, Brandon (Brittany) Blackmon of Jemison; Granddaughter, Emery Blackmon of Jemison; Brother, James Randall (JoEllen) Blackmon of Montevallo; Special Sister-in-Law, Patsy Robinson of Thorsby; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by: Father, Edward O’Neal Blackmon; Mother, Mary Magdalene Blackmon; Brother, Alton O’Neal Blackmon; and Great-Niece, Riley Blackmon.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 6-8pm at Clanton Church of God.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 2:00pm from the Clanton Church of God with Rev. Billy Boatwright officiating.

Burial will follow in the Thorsby Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby, AL.
