Doris B. (Scott) Payton

DORIS B. (SCOTT) PAYTON, age 97 of Calera, passed away on June 25, 2020 in Calera, AL. She was born in Chilton County on June 17, 1923; the daughter of the late Elijah Scott and the late Katie Forman Scott.

She was a former machine operator with Alabaster Plastics. She loved sewing, quilting, and any kind of needlework.

She is survived by: Son, Joel Payton of Calera; Grandchildren: Dana Clement of Birmingham, Daryl (Connie) Payton of Calera, and Blair Payton of Calera; Great-Grandchildren: Haley (Craig) Stanford of Auburn, Daviston Payton of Calera, Payton Clement of Birmingham, and Logan Scoggins of Calera; and Sister, Frances Collinsworth of Calera.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, Robert N. Payton; Parents, Elijah and Katie Scott; and 7 siblings.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 3:00pm in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, AL with Rev. James Blair and Rev. John Mitchell officiating.
