MRS. EDITH (LEACH) GRANT, age 89, of Wetumpka, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026. She was born on April 1, 1937, the daughter of the late Martin Luther Leach and the late Mabel Childress Leach.
Edith enjoyed sewing and quilting and had a special love for playing the piano and organ. She dedicated more than 20 years of service as a Clerk with the United States Postal Service.
She is survived by her son, John W. Herrod (Mellissa); grandson, John Walter Herrod; daughter, Lynn Herrod Walker (Mark); granddaughter, Savannah Walker Ford (Eugene); grandson, Spencer Christian Walker; and great-grandson, Aiden Ford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Luther Leach and Mabel Childress Leach; her husband, M.E. Grant; and her brother, Raymond Leach.
Edith will be remembered for her kindness, her talents, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton, Alabama with Rev. Rob West officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
