EDITH HAZEL (LESLEY) KIRBY, age 80 of Alabaster, passed away on September 18, 2020 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL. She was born in St. Clair County, AL on February 27, 1940; the daughter of the late Shirley Lesley and the late Mae Lee Lesley.
She was a former nurse’s aide. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, “grandmaw” to her grandchildren, “GiGi” to her great grandchildren, and “Aunt Hazel” to her many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Jemison, AL.
She is survived by: Daughter, Edith (Bill) Busby of Jemison; Son, Richard (Sandy) Hafer of Jemison; Daughter, Renee Hafer of Jemison; Grandchildren, Ben (Allison) Hafer and Heather (Phillip) Blackmon; Great Grandchildren: Jase Blackmon, Easton Hafer, Aubrey Hafer, Connor Hafer, Zaydie Hafer, and Kimber Hafer; Brother, Houston Lesley of Jemison; Brother, George Lesley of Robinwood; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: Great Granddaughter, Rylee Blackmon; Parents, Shirley and Mae Lesley; Sisters, Juanita Odem and Bernice Blythe; and Brothers: Frank Lesley, Buck Lesley, Hoyt Lesley, and Richard Lesley.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery in Jemison, AL with Rev. Scott Bush officiating.
