Elizabeth McGee Obituary

ELIZABETH ANN McGEE, 81, of Thorsby, Alabama, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025. Born on August 25, 1943, in Houston, Texas, Elizabeth lived a life rooted in compassion, care, and deep love for her family and community.

A devoted and retired nurse, Elizabeth dedicated her life to the service of others. Her gentle spirit, steady hands, and kind heart brought comfort to countless patients over the years. Nursing was not just her profession—it was her calling. In every role she took on, both inside and outside the hospital, she led with quiet strength and selfless devotion.

Elizabeth was the heart of her family. She loved nothing more than gathering her loved ones around the table, cooking homemade meals, and filling her home with laughter. An avid gardener, she found joy in nurturing life, whether it was in her blooming flowerbeds or through the lives she touched every day.

She is survived by her beloved children: Deborah Junell (and husband Shanon), Mary Moore (and husband Bubba), Charles Lee (and wife Toni), and Patricia Lee. She also leaves behind her sister Rita Halliburton and brother Charles Glen.

Elizabeth's legacy continues through her 14 grandchildren: Alexia Fowler, Taylor Barton (and husband Harmon), Caysen Junell, Casey Lee, Katlyn Lee, Aaron Lee, Cord McLellan, Katie Mitchell, Will Tamez (and wife Taylor), Eva Tamez, Anna Salles (and husband Thomas), Julie Soto (and husband Angel), Erica Bethke (and husband Peter), and Little Foster (and husband Colton); 3 step-grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren: Avery, Jase, Skylar, Rylie, Domingo, Erik, Gabby, Jaxon, Jadyn, Huxlyn, Eden, Alistair, Rowan, Emmi, Adley, Sutton, Lainey, Eli, Lucas, Kayleigh, Samantha, and Rowan.

She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Glen, mother Minnie Padgett, brother Thomas Glen Jr., and beloved grandson Domingo C. Tamez.

Elizabeth's life was a testament to grace, dedication, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a family united by her example—a legacy of kindness that will live on for generations.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
