Elizabeth Ann (Robertshaw) Salers, age 83, of Maylene, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, at Baptist Health-Shelby Hospital in Alabaster.
Elizabeth was born in Etowah County, Alabama, on April 18, 1942, to the late William Zelton Robertshaw and the late Dovie Cochran Robertshaw. Throughout her life, she was known for her unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and steadfast devotion to God.
For many years, Elizabeth worked as a customer service representative at Walmart in Alabaster, where she was known for her friendly spirit and willingness to help others. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and could often be found immersed in a good book. Her interests ranged from fantasy novels to westerns by her favorite author, Louis L'Amour. Above all, however, her favorite book was the Bible, which she read faithfully and from which she drew strength and guidance throughout her life.
Elizabeth was a godly woman who made it her mission to raise her family in church and instill within them the values of faith, love, and integrity. She was devoted to the Word of God and lived her life as a testimony to her Christian beliefs. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she loved them fiercely. Protective, caring, and never afraid to speak her mind, Elizabeth possessed a feisty spirit that endeared her to those who knew and loved her.
A faithful member of Alabaster Church, Elizabeth cherished her church family and especially looked forward each year to the ladies' fellowship ministry trip to Gatlinburg, which brought her much joy and many treasured memories.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, James Salers of McCalla and William “Skipper” Salers of Fort Payne; her daughter, Laura Seals of Maylene; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; her brother, Billy Ray Robertshaw of Decatur; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert E. Salers; her son, David Salers; her parents, William Zelton and Dovie Robertshaw; and eight siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Alabaster Church with Rev. Ken Stroup and Rev. Mac Farley officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Whitesboro Baptist Cemetery in Sardis, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Alabaster Church in her memory.
