FLORA ODELL LEACH, age 88, of the Mars Hill Community in Jemison, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in Jemison. She was born in Chilton County on June 16, 1937, the beloved daughter of the late Edgar Leach and the late Mary Della Smith Leach.
Flora lived a simple and meaningful life rooted in hard work, faith, and the joys of the outdoors. She spent much of her life as a dedicated farmer, tending the land with care and perseverance. Outside of her work, she found great happiness in fishing, a pastime she pursued with enthusiasm whenever the opportunity arose. Her love for animals was evident to all who knew her, as she showed kindness and compassion to every creature.
Flora also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—taking trips to go shopping, sharing meals at Burger King, and spending quiet moments at home watching her favorite westerns on television. She had a gentle spirit and a contented heart, finding joy in the everyday blessings of life.
She leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will cherish her memory and the many special moments they shared with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Della Leach; her brothers, Loui and Delco Leach; and her sister, Edna Alene Davidson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
