Frances Lu (Davis) Scoggins-Layton

FRANCES LU (DAVIS) SCOGGINS-LAYTON, age 73 of Jemison, passed away on September 24, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Shelby County on July 11, 1951; the daughter of the late Sidney Davis and the late Lula Mae Rowe Davis.

Frances retired from the Alabama 4-H Center as a kitchen manager.

She is survived by: Husband, Terry Layton of Jemison; Daughter, Tabitha (David) Vinson of Shelby; Daughter, Tina (Blaine) Broussard of Montevallo; Stepdaughter, Tracy (Roger) Hutto of Wilsonville; Stepson, Gerald (Wendy) Layton of CA; Step-Daughter, Alisha Layton of Jemison; Grandchildren: Bridgette Jones, Brittanie Sizemore, Makayla Davis, Mason Broussard, Tiffany Harris, Jacob Whitner, Hollie Vining, and Dylan Layton; Great Grandchildren: Tanner Farmer, Taylor Farmer, Kourtney Deerman, JR Sizemore, Cadyn Harris, Gabbriella Harris, Isabella Whitner, Riverlynn Vining, Fisher Vining, and Zane Whitner; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, Cecil Scoggins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 2:00pm from the Shelby Memory Gardens Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Calera with Rev. Jeffrey Howard officiating. 

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Shelby Memory Gardens in Calera, AL.
