GARY ALLEN MEDER, age 57, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 27, 2026 in Jemison, Alabama. Gary was born on July 1, 1968 in Detroit, Michigan; the son of Richard and Patricia Meder. He resided in Michigan for most of his life until moving to Jemison, Alabama in 2011.
Gary graduated from Valley Christian High School in 1987. He later obtained his A&P license and built his career in the aviation industry. He began his career at Spirit airlines as an airplane mechanic in Detroit, Michigan. He later worked as a maintenance supervisor for United Airlines at Chicago O’Hare airport and finished his career in Chicago as a maintenance planner.
Gary loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren that lovingly called him Gaga. He also enjoyed NASCAR and was a huge fan of all University of Michigan sports (Go Blue). He also loved all Detroit sports teams: The Lions, Pistons, Tigers, and Red Wings. He had a heart for helping the less fortunate and lovingly shared his time in any food pantry or giveaway. Gary loved traveling and attending NASCAR races with his wife, Wendi. There was always another trip on the horizon.
Gary had a passion for music. He would listen to nearly every genre, but his favorite was 80’s rock, but he was mostly known for his big heart. He was not afraid to show his feelings.
Left to cherish his memory are his Wife, Wendi Meder; Children: Brad (Samantha) Meder, Brianna (Brandon) Watts, Brookelynn Meder, Brennan Meder, Chelsea Caudle, and Dawson (Promise) Caudle; 9 beloved grandchildren; Father, Richard Meder; Brother, Randy (Jamie) Meder; Sister, Sherry (Roger) Walker; and many beloved extended family members.
