GEORGE B. “BUBBA” JACKSON, age 61 of Jemison, passed away suddenly on April 9, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on March 6, 1964; the son of the late Harvey Jackson and the late Donnie Ruvon Lowery Defee.
Bubba never met a stranger — he had a natural gift for making people feel welcome and at ease. His greatest joy in life was his family, especially his beloved wife Donna, who was truly his world. Their love was the foundation of a beautiful life filled with laughter, devotion, and unforgettable memories.
He was a proud grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. Whether it was sharing stories, offering wisdom, or just enjoying their company, Bubba’s love and presence meant everything to them.
Bubba worked for many years as a welder with Chemical Lime Co., where he was known not just for his skill and work ethic, but also for his camaraderie and easygoing nature.
Outside of work and family, Bubba enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — especially playing and shooting pool, a favorite pastime that brought him joy and connection.
His warmth, kindness, and steady presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
He is survived by: Wife, Donna Jackson of Jemison; Daughter, Stephanie Putnam of Jemison; Son, Bud (Haylee) Jackson of Jemison; Son-in-Law, Jason (Shay) Anderson of Jemison; 10 Grandchildren; Brother, James Jackson of Jemison; Brother, Buddy (Theresa) Defee of Luverne; and 8 nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: Daughter, Dana LaShae Jackson; Mother, Ruvon Defee; and Father, Harvey Jackson.
