Guinivere (Royster) Terry

Ms. Guinivere (Royster) Terry, age 89, of Clanton, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.

She was born in Chilton County on July 28, 1936, to the late Daniel Webster Royster and Roselle Chism Royster. A lifelong resident of the area, Guinivere was known for her strong work ethic, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family. She spent many years farming and took great pride in the land she worked. She was also a renowned quilter throughout the state of Alabama, sharing her remarkable talent and creativity through countless handmade quilts that will be treasured by those who received them. Through every stitch and every season, she poured her heart into caring for others.

More than anything, she loved her family and found her greatest joy in time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Douglas (Jo) Terry of Clinton, South Carolina, and Dennis (Marsha) Terry of Plantersville, Alabama; grandchildren, Joseph (Heather) Terry of Clinton, South Carolina, Jennifer (Christian) Sabillon of Charleston, South Carolina, Jessica Terry (Shane Smitherman) of Verbena, Alabama, and Blake (Cheyenne) Terry of Plantersville, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Avery, Chloe, William, Andrew, Harper, Brayden, Liam, and Levi; sister, Edith (Bill) Benton; brother, Kenneth (Bobbie) Royster of McKenzie, Alabama; along with a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Roselle Royster; her sister, Delray Royster; and her son, Danny Terry.

Her life was a testament to hard work, faith, and unconditional love, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
