Iella (Hughes) Vance

IELLA (HUGHES) VANCE, age 95 of Clanton, passed away on February 5, 2025 at her residence. She was born in Chilton County on June 16, 1929; the daughter of the late Julius Harmon Hughes and the late Annie Head.

She will be remembered as a woman who loved well. She loved her family and enjoyed the times that they would get together. She enjoyed cooking and loving on those around her.

She is survived by: Son, Jerry (Audrey) Jones of Clanton; Daughter, Joyce Moore of Clanton; Daughter, Jane (Richard) Hozik of Great Falls, VA; Son, Edward Sniezek, Jr. of Clanton; Daughter, Elaine (Joe) Eiginger of Myrtle Beach, SC; Daughter, Linda (Artie) Rush of New Castle, PA; 17 Grandchildren; 22 Great Grandchildren; 11 Great-Great Grandchildren; and Sister, Edie (Mike) Seymour of DeKalb, MS.

She is preceded in death by: Husband, William Vance; Son, Jimmy Jones; Grandson, Jonathan Moore; Grandson, Christopher Rush; Grandson, Kyle Jones; Father, J.H. Hughes; Mother, Annie Head; Stepmother, Ruby Hughes; Brother, Clyde Hughes; Brother, Julius Hughes; Sister, Linnie Hathcock; and Sister, Eudora Pastirak.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 from 5-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 11:00am from Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Chris Paul officiating.

The body will be in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in New Harmony Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Clanton, AL.
