INEZ (TILLERY) EDWARDS, age 96 of Clanton, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025 at Hatley Healthcare in Clanton, AL. She was born in Crenshaw County, AL on January 18, 1929; the daughter of the late Larkin Tillery and the late Iona Griffin Tillery.
She retired from Prattville Apparel where she worked as a seamstress. Growing up on the family farm, Inez developed a strong work ethic. She didn’t complain at what life threw at her. She maintained a glass half full attitude and was always strong willed.
She is survived by: Son, Benny (Becky) Stinson; Son, Johnny (Nanette) Stinson; Son, James (Debra) Stinson; Daughter, Ida (Johnny) Guidy; 13 Grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; Sister, Dorothy Stamps; Brother, Levi Tillery; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: Husband, Howard Edwards; Son, Kenny Stinson; Daughter, Linda Tucker; Granddaughters: Christy, Pamela, and Tammie; Parents, Larkin and Iona Tillery; Brother, L.A. (Lillie Jean) Tillery; and Sisters: Dora Lewis, Gladys Hensley, and Addie Mae (Hoover) Stephens.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Jackson officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the Chestnut Creek Cemetery in Verbena, AL.
The family would like to sincerely thank Hatley Healthcare and the many people that cared for her and brought joy to her life during her last years. A special thanks to Mechelle Jackson, who mother loved very much. We would also like to thank Expect Care Hospice for their care during her last stage of life.
