James Gore Obituary

JAMES HAROLD GORE, age 79 of Verbena, passed away on June 12, 2024 at his residence. He was bornin Chilton County on September 16, 1944; the son of the late James Austin Gore and the late Bertie Mae Cleckley Gore.

He honorably served his country for over 23 years in the United States Air Force rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. He served during the Vietnam Conflict and received several distinguished service medals. After his time in the service, he worked for many years as a heating and air contractor. He finally worked with the Chilton County Board of Education in the maintenance department.

He is survived by: Wife, Janet (Acherman) Gore of Verbena; Daughter, Theresa (Richard Duke) Gore of Verbena; Daughter, Lisa Buldier of Clanton; Granddaughter, Dawn Couley of Thorsby; Granddaughter, Stephanie (David) Wallace of Clanton; Grandson, Nelson Buldier of Clanton; and Great Grandchildren: Alexis Thomas, Philip Nance, Emma Wallace, and Landon Wallace.

He is preceded in death by: Daughter, Tina Marie Gore-Wenige; Parents, James Austin and Bertie Mae Gore; Sister, Janice Jones; Brother, Larry Gore; Brother, Keilan Gore; and Brother, Wilbur Gore.

Inurnment with full military honors will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 12:30pm in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.

The family request no flowers, but encourage a memorial contribution to your favorite veterans charity.
